Anything but a square from Polkadoodles

Good morning my lovelies, blogger is playing tricks on me again and not posting my scheduled posts but better late than never I suppose. Its time for a new challenge at Polkadoodles and this time around our theme is 'anything but a square'. I've made a bird house using one of the templates from the gorgeous Twiggy and Toots collection d used lots of the lovely papers and embellies along the way.

The templates are really easy to use, great if you don't have a Cameo or some kind of clever cutting machine lol. I've added some of the embellies from the CD, love the fence so I put some at the front of my bird house and some at the back.

I added lots of flowers, lace, pearl trim and other goodies from my stash and mounted the bird house on MDF shapes that I'd covered with papers from Twiggy and Toots

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Decorate to celebrate: anything goes
Glitter 'n' Sparkle: anything but a card

Stampbord on C&C!!

Good morning folks, my project today is a little wall hanging made with Stampbord and PanPastels. Our lovely Nikky Hall is on C&C tomorrow at 10am demonstrating some awesome techniques so make sure you book your place on the sofa. Sadly I'll be at work but I'll be recording it so I can catch up when I get home!

I've used a stampbord ATC and Coaster to create this project. I'd accidentally splashed some black pearl medium on these making another project but I kind of liked the mottled look so I just applied some Pearlescent Yellow and Orange PanPastels over the top. I masked the sun and added some more colour and a little Black fine pearl PanPAstel Medium. Next I set to stamping using stamps from the Premium Craft Brands sets Postcard and roses. Nikky will also be demoing some fab tools to work with your stampbord and I was lucky to have a set so I used one of the fine tools to scratch some highlights here and there. Hopefully you'll see them a bit better in this pic.

I stamped the butterfly on acetate using White EP and then applied Black Pearl medium over the top. I sponged versmark in on the back and added Yellow, Orange and a little Red PanPastel, cut it ou and popped in onto the project.

To attached the two pieces of stampbord I used red line tape and black ribbon. To finish off I added some black lace and a little pearl trim.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Craft your passion: Anything goes
Love to Scrap: Anything goes
Not just cards: anything goes
Simon Says Stamp: Make your own background
Stamp and Create: anything goes

Anything goes with PanPastels at PanPastel UK

Good morning folks, Its challenge time at PanPastel UK and this time we want to see what you can create with your PanPastels!! Its an 'Anything goes' theme so there's lots of scope to play along to be in with a chance of winning some gorgeous goodies from our generous sponsors Premium Craft Brands. I've made a canvas using the gorgeous A4 Butterfly Stencil and lots of PanPastels. You can find links to the goodies i've used at the end of this post :-)

I began by applying Maimeri Light Modelling Paste through the butterfly stencil with a palette knife and then added more LMP through a harlequin stencil. Once that was dry I added colour with my Pearl PanPastels, adding a little Ultramarine Blue for some depth. I sanded the background a little to lift some of the colour from the stencilling and then I sealed the colours with my own spray fixer made by diluting Maimeri Matte Medium with water (about 3 parts water to 1 part matte medium) in a spritzer bottle. While the spray was wet I dusted on lots of the gorgeous Course White Pearl Medium for loads of extra sparkle and shimmer.

I coloured two pieces of stampbord with my Pans and stamped the sentiments with Black Memento Ink and popped them on the canvas to finish off.

I'm entering this project in the following challenges:

Jo's Scrap Shack: flowers and butterflies
